Katy
A 1950 Jaguar Mark V.
A rare Jaguar from the 1940's updated from the pre-war larger saloons
and only manufactured between 1948 and 1951.
Pre World War II all Jaguars were known as SS cars
and were 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 litre saloons. Obviously post war SS was
not an appropriate name to give a car and so
when the updated version of the pre-war cars were produced they
were known as Jaguars and were produced in 2.5 and 3.5 litre form
and called Mark V.
Katy is dark blue with attractive pale blue
leather seats and trim and again walnut veneer wood fascias and
door cappings. She has a 3.5 litre overhead valve, twin carburettors
which make her performance fairly lively for a car of this age.
The engine was originally produced for the Jaguar SS 100 sports
car in the 1930's. |
